Bright seel bars are nothing but hot rolled steel bars rendered after further processing. The steel is processed in fully-equipped cold reduction mills, where it is cooled at room temperature.

Annealing remains the next step – employed to facilitate the properties of steel to cater to the machinability needs. The steel is heated at slightly above 723 degree Centigrade and then is allowed to cool down slowly. The resultant product (steel) is backed by higher dimensional tolerances and varied surface finishes.

We employ the highly efficient cold finishing technique for our steel bars.Cold finishing implies the cold drawing and/or turning, polishing and grinding of steel, resulting in the following advantages:

  • Higher Yield Points
  • Higher tensile strength resulting in the elimination of the need for expensive thermal treatments
  • Improved surface finish – thanks to polishing
  • Elimination of imperfections owing to grinding
  • Size tolerance range narrowed down by Grinding

In other words, the cold rolled bars offer better surface finish, straightness, concentricity and tolerance than the hot rolled bars.

Bright Steel Bar Products

Shapes Quality
Rounds – 3 to 100 mm diameter Mild , Carbon & Alloy
Flats – 16×4 to 125×25 mm Or any other specific chemical required.
Squares – 12 to 63.5 mm
Hexagons – 12 to 70 mm A/F

Hot Rolled Steel Bars

Steel billets of various grades (Mild Steel, Carbon and Alloy) are rolled at temperatures above 1000 degree centigrade to render Hot Rolled Bars. When processed at temperatures beyond its recrystallization temperature, steel can be easily moulded in myriad shapes like:

  • Flat
  • Round
  • Square
  • Hexagon

The resultant products are larger in size as well. Notably, hot rolled steel bars are less expensive than cold rolled bars since they don’t need reheating. Hot rolled steel bars are used in engineering applications that don’t require close tolerances:

  • Trailers
  • Walkways
  • Ramps
  • Structural Support
  • Axles
  • Machinery
  • Ratchets
  • General Fabrication
  • Bolts
  • Shafts
  • Others
